This course acts as an introduction to central venous catheters with content that covers anatomy, patient assessment, history, acceptable laboratory levels, indications and contraindications for central placement, patient positioning, supplies and important considerations prior to initiation of the insertion procedure. Imaging and procedural videos illustrate key aspects necessary for the clinicians level of understanding prior to advancing to the insertion course. This course is helpful to the beginner and more advanced clinician to learn and review best practices for central venous catheters.
