PICC Preceptor Training Program

The goal of PICC precepting is to assist a clinician who has completed PICC didactic training become qualified to perform PICC insertions safely and independently. This course teaches the experienced PICC clinician how to adequately supervise and precept a new inserting clinician.

  2. Responsibilities of the preceptor
  3. Effective teaching methods
  4. Learning styles
  5. What skills and didactic training must be validated prior to approving a new clinician for independent PICC insertion
    Also included: documentation to complete the simulated Competency Assessment.

    Supervising people in a way that is positive and encouraging takes skill, plus with this course, learn a few tips along the way!
