The CVC Removal program reviews when and how to safely remove a central venous access device. Using best practices for the removal minimizes the risk associated with the catheter removal, allows for the early identification of potential complications and provides appropriate clinical intervention and/or emergency measures as needed.
Course Objective and Goals:
Review the criteria of when a central venous catheter (CVC) is to be removed in accordance with current guidelines, recommendations, standards and best practices
Provide a step-by-step procedure for the removal of a CVC
Discuss complications that may arise during the removal of a CVC and how to prevent or address these complications
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # CEP 15304 Continuing Nursing Education also provided through Florida Board of Nursing, Provider # 50-1594 CNE status acceptable for all states within the USA
