Basic PICC Qualification Training for Adults and Pediatrics - Ultrasound Trainingclassroom

We currently have a group training class being held every other month at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta as well as other locations around the country. The Atlanta class is located at the intersection of North Druid Hills Blvd and I-85. The classes are held in classroom #2 at Childrens Health Care of Atlanta Office Park located at 1680 Tullie Circle, Atlanta, Georgia.

  • When you arrive at Children’s Office Park
  • Look for the building with the yellow tabs
  • Park and go into the main entrance of 1680 Tullie Circle (by the circle drive)
  • Once inside, turn left and follow the signs to Classroom 2
The class is open to any clinician or physician who desires qualification for PICC insertion. Class size is limited, so you will need to register early. This class is for the beginning inserter and includes two days of intensive training. Day one covers Basic PICC Qualification. Training includes didactic training and a practicum with simulated insertions. Day 2 integrates ultrasound assessment and guided access into the overall PICC insertion procedure. The combination of these two classes will equip you with the latest techniques in PICC insertion procedures to begin supervised insertions on patients at your facility. This class is taught by Linda Burns, a PICC specialist with 15 years of experience. The class is held at Children’s Health Care of Atlanta located at 1680 Tullie Circle, Atlanta Georgia.

Ultrasound Certification - Workshop dates to be announced

Ultrasound technology has made it possible to easily and accurately identify veins, arteries and nerve bundles of the upper arm that insures safer insertion for PICCs and CVCs. This workshop is designed to provide education to the current PICC/CVC user of ultrasound, verify basic knowledge in a practice format and validate understanding of key concepts through examination. Prequalification includes supervisor signature confirming completion of a Basic PICC Training Class and insertion history with ultrasound guidance for at least 6 placements. Those without insertion verification of at least 6 ultrasound guided PICC placements may attend and receive continuing education.
