Our Infection Prevention courses provide evidence-based practices, standards and recommendations issued by leading agencies proven to reduce the risk of infections with vascular access devices.

The Central Line Bundle Program (1.0 CE) - For all clinicians who insert PICCs, this program reviews the 5 steps of the Central Line Bundle program as issued by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement based on Dr. Pronovost’s studies and the Centers for Disease Control.

 

Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections (1.0 CE) -For all clinicians who insert or maintain PICCs, this program reviews what a CLABSI is, the main point or portals of entry of bacteria into the body and steps that can be taken to prevent these infections.

 

Central Line Insertion Practices (1.0 CE) -For all clinicians who insert PICCs, this program explains the insertion checklist as required by the National Healthcare Safety Network. This checklist provides specific steps for the clinician to follow during the insertion procedure proven to reduce the risk of infection.

 

All programs require the successful completion of a post-test exam prior to receiving education credits.
