Management of Non-Thrombotic Catheter Occlusions

This program reviews catheter occlusions that are not related to blood/thrombus formation. This includes mechanical issues (such as equipment malfunction), tip migration or malposition, precipitates formed by chemical reactions of incompatible drug infusions and lipid build-up within the catheter from the infusion of TPN. We analyze the causes, symptoms and treatments for each of these occlusion.
