We currently have a group training class being held every other month at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta located at the intersection of North Druid Hills Blvd and I-85. The classes are held in classroom #4 at Childrens Health Care of Atlanta Office Park located at 1680 Tullie Circle, Atlanta, Georgia. The class is open to any clinician or physician who desires qualification for PICC insertion. Class size is limited, so you will need to register early. The class is taught by Linda Burns. Linda has been a PICC specialist for 11 years and does an incredible job of imparting her knowledge to you. The class includes two days of intensive training with day #1 covering the basic curriculum of the PICC Modified Seldinger Technique inclusive of a practicum with simulated insertions. Depending on the date you choose, the class with either cover adult insertions or pediatric/neonatal insertions as specified on the brochure. Day 2 for both classes (adult and pediatrics) integrates Ultrasound assessment and guided access into the overall PICC procedure. The combination of these two classes will equip you with the latest technology in PICC insertion procedures and will enable you to begin supervised insertions on patients at your facility. These classes provide the necessary training for PICC certification.
