DVD Self-Study Kits

Our self-study programs provide the ultimate in convenience for PICC insertion training. Each kits contains a training DVD with full, live examples of the procedure being taught, a training manual, a practicum check list and a log book. Simply watch a section of the DVD, read and study that section in the manual, then move to the next section.

After completion of the DVD and the study manual, log on to the PICC Excellence, Inc account you created during the purchase process and take the online exam. Upon successful completion of the exam with a score of 80% or higher, print your certificate. It is now time to complete your practicum. The practicum requires you to perform a simulated insertion under the supervision of a physician or qualified inserter. This supervisor signs off on the competency checklist provided and verifies that you performed the procedure adequately. That’s how it works! Keep the DVDs and manuals for future reference when needed.

Testing and Certificate of Completion

Course testing, evaluation and certificates are completed online using the login ID and password you created during the purchase process. Once you're satisfied with your understanding of the materials presented, take the test for your self-study program. You must answer a minimum of 80% of the questions correctly in order to print your certificate. To take the test:

Log in to your PICC Excellence account at www.piccexcellence.com.
Select the course from your list of available courses.
Select test from the left navigation bar and begin your test. There is no time limit and you may take the test multiple times.
Once you receive a passing score, the option to print a certificate is available.
Select print option, complete a class evaluation and print your certificate following the on screen instructions.
