You may not remember me, but I have called you several times asking for advice with PICC questions ( I may be the reason you started this......smile), and you have always been there for me, not being mean or rude but genuinely helping me, when technically you didn't have to. I took your PICC course as a supplement for another course that I had taken and I was very impressed. After I began to insert them, as you know, I ran into one obstacle after another and I would call and you would be there. I just wanted you to know how very special I think you are and this group really helps us nurses that are inserting. I am  1 1/2 hrs away from the closest city and I am the only one in our hospital that inserts them, so for me it is like life and death when I come across an issue that I don't know the answer to. You are my blessing.

PICC Certification

I have been involved in PICC placement, education and inservices since 1993.  Many people have used the term "certified" loosely.  Now there is a standard qualification process and test so employers as well as peers will know someone has a consistent knowledge base of PICCs.  The questions were fair, enough humor without being dry, and the two hour time limit was appropriate.

Comments:  I switched between a mouse and keyboard for the answers, when I did I forgot a couple of times to enter an answer.  Don't know if your tech support could put in a prompt reminder--No answer supplied, do you wish to supply one? or something like that....maybe the program format would not allow this.  Also if there was a prompter about the timer so the person would know if they were going too slow, had time to ponder an answer, etc.  There were a couple of repeats of questions on the exam.

Overall, it was very fair.

The DVD’s were wonderful. I have attended 2 other PICC Classes by other companies and this one is excellent. This was a very valuable program.  We recently developed a band new PICC team at our facility.
